The 'Inimim Forest Restoration Project covers 1,300 acres of Bureau of Land Management land in northwest Nevada County, north of the South Yuba River. This project aims to restore and manage forest ecosystems to enhance resilience against disturbances anticipated over the next century. The project's goals include reestablishing historical forest structures, increasing biodiversity, reducing wildfire risks, and protecting soil productivity through various treatment methods, such as mechanical thinning, manual thinning, and prescribed burns.
