Forest and Community Resilience & Health

Back to all Focus Areas.

Basics

Forest and Community Resilience & Health

Forest and Community Resilience & Health encompasses initiatives aimed at enhancing forest ecosystems' resilience and protecting communities against wildfires. It integrates efforts such as post-fire restoration to recover from wildfire damage, fuels reduction to prevent future fires, pest and disease management to maintain forest health, and aspen regeneration to support biodiversity. Additionally, it includes community wildfire protection measures like risk reduction planning, hazardous fuel management, home hardening strategies, and firefighting infrastructure improvements. This comprehensive approach aims to create a sustainable coexistence between natural landscapes and human communities, fostering resilience against environmental threats.
