2023 STPUD Pioneer Trail Fire Suppression Infrastructure

Planning/Design
This project installs 11,300 linear feet of new 12 and 16” water mains and 10 fire hydrants on Pioneer Trail from Marshall Trail to Susquehana. This is a sparsely populated road but a main evacuation route and fire break for the community of South Lake Tahoe. There is currently not water service along this route. The project will install fire hydrants at less than 1000 ft spacing in accordance with the Fire Code for undeveloped areas and will provide fire flow in excess of 3000 gpm.
