Hydrologic Integrity

Basics

Water Security and Riparian Heath
Hydrologic Integrity

Goal Description

The goal of Hydrologic Integrity is rooted in the essential need to preserve and enhance the health of hydrological systems, which are fundamental to sustaining life and ecosystems. Hydrological systems play a crucial role in regulating the distribution and quality of water, as well as supporting biodiversity and ecosystem functions. However, these systems face increasing pressures from human activities, including pollution, urbanization, and climate change, which threaten water quality and availability. Therefore, the goal of Hydrologic Integrity seeks to ensure the resilience and sustainability of hydrological systems by preserving water quality, managing stormwater runoff, maintaining infrastructure responsibly, and enhancing groundwater storage. By prioritizing the integrity of hydrological systems, this goal aims to safeguard water resources, support ecosystem health, and promote the long-term well-being of both people and the environment.
