Wildland Urban Interface Hazardous Fuel Reduction
This project has reduced hazardous fuels on lands within the Wildland Urban Interface Defense Zone of Incline Village, NV. 298 acres was treated using hand thinning, and understory burning. It has served to complement near-by fuels reduction projects, and previous treatments where 1st entry hand-thinning has been completed. The project is located near critical water treatment facilities, which are critical for fire-flow in the event of a wildfire, and potential evacuation centers should wildfire be active in the area.
