Pollinator/Wildlife-Friendly Landscaping

Back to all Goals

Basics

Restore & Protect Native Fish and Wildlife
Pollinator/Wildlife-Friendly Landscaping

Goal Description

The goal of Pollinator/Wildlife-Friendly Landscaping is driven by the urgent need to address the challenges posed by changing environmental conditions and the escalating impacts of climate change. As ecosystems face increasing pressures, including habitat loss, fragmentation, and altered climatic patterns, there is a critical necessity to create resilient environments that can withstand these changes. By fostering biodiversity and enhancing habitat connectivity through the development of wildlife corridors, this approach seeks to promote genetic diversity and species resilience. Furthermore, Urban Pollinator Landscaping addresses the specific threats facing pollinators in urban areas, where habitat fragmentation and pesticide use are prevalent. By designing urban spaces to accommodate pollinators and reducing pesticide exposure, this strategy aims to support the vital ecological functions performed by pollinators, such as plant reproduction and ecosystem stability. Ultimately, Pollinator/Wildlife-Friendly Landscaping is essential for building adaptive and resilient ecosystems that can thrive in the face of environmental challenges, ensuring the continued health and vitality of ecosystems for future generations.
