The objective of this project is to begin the process of reversing the ecological, economic, environmental, aesthetic and social impacts of the Caldor Fire. Specific objectives include: 1) treat lands affected by the Fire and adjacent to post fire restoration areas to reduce the potential for additional negative impacts from wildfire in the future by removing accumulated debris and dead trees; 2) conduct site preparation and reforestation actions 3) increase potential carbon sequestration and achieve greenhouse gas emissions reduction 4) protect watershed values and 5) utilize the project as an educational opportunity about community response to wildfire.
