Develop, Improve, and Sustain Transit Systems
This initial capital project includes development of a strategic build-out of a regional ferry system, including evaluation of fuel type, coordination with emergency managers for evacuation, and private water taxis operations. Preliminary engineering, environmental, final design and construction of the primary north and south shore ferry terminals,maintenance facilities, and purchasing the high-speed ferry boats necessary for the service are included. Once service is established, this project will become part of TTD's transit operations and coordinate with water taxi services provided by private operators to meet peak demand.
