Riparian Zone Restoration
Hydrologic Process & Geomorphic Feature Restoration
Restore approximately 6,000 feet of stream and floodplain by strategic placement of large wood structures and boulders. Four stream reaches are identified for restoration in the Final Lake Tahoe West Restoration Project EA, issued in September 2025.
Impacts were in response to multiple floods occurring over the winter of 2016/17. Two floods exceeded 20-year flood levels.
Projects are located in untreated areas. Floods caused stream incision, bank erosion and sinuosity loss.
