Pillars of Resilience
Social & Cultural Well-Being
Increasing evidence shows that more time in nature improves health and well-being. Sierra Nevada forests foster cultural and social ties to place. Resilient landscapes provide recreational opportunities, access to culturally significant resources, and involvement in natural resource management.
The goal is for the landscape to offer opportunities for people to connect with nature, recreate, enhance their health, contribute to environmental stewardship, and shape their identity.
