Pillars of Resilience
Wetland Integrity
Wetlands are vital habitats that filter nutrients, store carbon, serve as biodiversity hubs, improve water quality, prevent erosion, and offer recreational opportunities. Functional wetlands will play a crucial role in mitigating impacts from climate extremes, flooding, and upland disturbances.
The goal is for meadow and riparian ecosystems to provide diverse ecosystem services and serve as vital connections between upland and aquatic systems in forested landscapes.
